Library Card & Services

WHAT YOU NEED TO GET A LIBRARY CARD:

A current, valid Michigan Driver’s License, Michigan Identification Card, or Resident Alien Card documenting identity and current address. If the patron cannot meet this requirement a credible photographic identification must be used to establish the patron’s correct, current name. Acceptable photographic identification includes:

  • Employment or School ID
  • Out-of-State Driver’s License
  • Passport
  • Military ID

If photographic identification does not have current address please provide one of the following:

  • Voter registration card
  • Recent utility bill
  • Hospitalization, insurance card or automobile registration
  • Printed check
  • Recent local property tax bill

Before being able to establish a card with South Haven Memorial Library as part of the MI Library card system, residents of Casco Township are required to come to the Fennville District Library in person and register for a physical library card.

RETURN ANYWHERE:

With Lakeland Library Cooperative’s Return Anywhere service you can check books out from one library system and return them at another.*

  • Items may appear on your account for a few days after return. They may need to travel to a central location before they get checked-in fine free.
  • If you check out materials from Grand Rapids Public Library, please return them to a GRPL location only.
  • If you check out materials from South Haven Memorial Library, please return them to South Haven.
  • For more information, talk with a staff member at your home library.

*GRPL is not participating in the Return Anywhere program at this time, but they will be happy to reexamine it in the future after the completion of their strategic plan.
